Music as subjective & objective

Music can be subjective in terms of personal preference and taste, but it is not solely an opinion. Music is a form of art that encompasses various elements such as melody, harmony, rhythm, and lyrics (if applicable). These elements can be objectively analyzed and evaluated based on technical proficiency, composition, arrangement, and production quality.

Different individuals may have different opinions and preferences when it comes to music genres, styles, or specific artists. What one person may consider beautiful and enjoyable, another person may dislike. Therefore, the appreciation and enjoyment of music are subjective experiences.

However, it's important to note that there are objective standards and criteria within the field of music that can be used to assess the technical and artistic quality of a piece. Musicians, music scholars, and critics often analyze and evaluate music based on these objective criteria, considering factors such as melody structure, harmonic progression, rhythmic complexity, and vocal or instrumental technique.

In summary, while personal preference and opinion play a significant role in how individuals perceive and enjoy music, there are also objective aspects that can be assessed and evaluated by experts in the field.
