So let me start off by saying that AI has helped me before. It has helped me to answer some complex questions. It has helped me to simplify concepts and save time. It has helped me to research things that I’m interested in learning about. It can be a very useful tool.
But what I’m seeing most companies do is not helpful. I’m seeing tools that create songs from word prompts using other peoples work as its datasource. These tools are being placed behind subscriptions, tokens, and other paywalls.

But guess what! A.I. is here and we need to deal with it and the future it brings. It’s going to change our lives for both good and bad. So what can we do about it? We can always make a difference, and for me, I’ve decided that I would like to talk about AI tools that have been designed to help musicians and creatives.
So how can A.I. tools help musicians? AI tools can remove friction from tedious tasks that slow down the creative process. Here are a few examples of audio production tasks that have caused me to procrastinate instead of creating because they are so time consuming and hard to deal with. They can suck the life out of the creative flow.
- Option overload in hardware and software
- Vocal and instrument production tasks (editing, leveling, comping, aligning, pitch correction)
- Video editing tasks
- Distribution and promotional tasks

What I would like to see A.I. help with:
- Help create new tools and platforms that inspire instead of replace.
- Help solve difficult problems that hold musicians back (latency and hardware/software integration)
- Help create new instruments and effects that inspire creativity.
- Help design new tools for collaboration.
- Help musicians learn, grow, and prosper.
- Help musicians without subscriptions, tokens, and other paywalls.
- Help musicians in an open environment that supports community, collaboration, and transparency.
This can only be accomplished by good companies and more importantly good people that just want to help.
