Twitch Raid Concerts and Festivals

Use Twitch Raids to create a collaborative online concert or festival.

A raid sends everyone on your channel page at the time of the raid to the target channel.

How to Use Raids

If two or more musician want to setup their own live show on Twitch they can use the Raid function to make it like a concert.  All the musicians should create virtual flyers and post them on each of their social media accounts before the show.  You could create a panel on your Twitch about page to promote the event.  Each musician can add the concert information to their Twitch schedules.

Designate one of the artist as the opener and have them start their stream first.  The headliner needs to attend the openers stream to support the show.  Once the opening act finishes then they can raid the headliners channel.  You can have as many musicians involved but a set schedule will need to be followed for this to work.

To start a raid, type /raid followed by the name of the channel you wish to raid.  Alternatively, click the Raid Channel quick action on your dashboard to select a channel from the suggested list or search for a channel.

Think of the possibilities.

  • You could create a festival name and theme.  Everyone wears a Hawaiian shirt, everyone uses the same colored lights, everyone uses the same filter on their webcam, the options are endless.
  • Promotional items can be coordinated like event music downloads, t-shirts, and virtual posters.
  • You could setup virtual stages like big festivals and have multiple concerts running at the same time.

This could be a great way to collaborate and cross promote with other musicians.  I haven't seen this before so I wanted to create a post to describe my idea.

The most important aspect of this concept is that musicians would be able to come together and create an exciting and fun experience for everyone.
